My dad was born in the US in 1926. My mom escaped the actual, real Nazis and came here as a refugee in 1944 and was granted full citizenship. I was born here in 1966.

You know, I am still not sure I am safe from deportation. Did I mention we are Jewish?

Yeah let's percolate on that. It is not so far fetched to imagine that once the "criminal element" and their families are removed, the Fourth Reich will start looking for more people to blame for their own failures. Gee...wonder who that's gonna be??

@MPCavalier
I have the same fears. They are generational trauma exacerbated by Trumps rhetoric.
Have a plan.
I do think guardrails will hold but, know when things have crossed the Rubicon and be able to get out

@MPCavalier I’ve been wondering that. If they end birthright citizenship (which I don’t think they can without repealing the 14th amendment), wouldn’t that render everyone stateless … except naturalized citizens? If we offer a grandfather clause, how many generations would it have to go back to be acceptable - two? Three? Or is it going to be a massive gray area where they can just yank away citizenship when they feel like it? 😬
