@Museek
Wow. Where is gas 6.05 a gallon?? Gas went from 3.39 to 2.83 here in Indy just in the last few weeks.
@Museek
I hope that the "kids" are actually paying attention to their reality instead of tik tok. My 20yo just mentioned yesterday how gas prices had been falling. But you know - even if gas came down to $2 those nutjobs would say "Harris is manipulating the price of gas to win the election." They are lost.
@Museek
I think informational responsibility starts with us, the parents. We've been diligent but not militant with what our kids see on sm. But we also teach them how money and personal finances actually work. Any "kid" that still lives at home should encouraged to ask questions i.e. "is this true?", "what can we do about this?" Can we as adults defend against a coordinated attack on the truth? Sure, but it's the adults that are propagating this bs, right?
@MPCavalier Agree.. but its highly unlikely other parents are doing the same.
As a related example, I can't even get the parents in our parent group to watch their kids.. they are terribly naive.. and I've actually had to tell some of them, my daughter cannot be at your house if you do not know where the kids are at any given time.
I fear TikTok and other media is heavily influencing kids and that parents are underinformed about what they're consuming online..
@Museek
….or they don’t care.
And your first sentence is exactly the problem. They treat SM just like it was shitty processed food. They don’t care what’s in it as long as it’s cheap and keeps the kids quiet. What hath god wrought, indeed. Hey….I appreciate you!
@MPCavalier good.. i hope so, too.
How do you think they can be corrected? Do you think its worth looking at the memes and presenting the. facts?
i think there is a large number of them listening to each other on tikTok, and that many of the kids at that age have gripes about not being able to afford to live on their own. i saw a Skeletor meme a moment ago and they're targeting the young voter age group.
