#eclipse2024. We live in the path of totality down the road from a state park. We’re hearing from local police to expect upwards of a half million visitors for the great event. Residents should expect invasive parking, drivers plan for gridlock, make sure your tank is full and have snacks and water in the car. Is it a solar event or an evac? Glad I’ll be able to see it from my deck! Oh and those folks who have no idea an eclipse is happening posting on next door is gonna be awesome!!
@mPony
Yeah and i am here for it! I am imagining most of our major roads and the interstates will be jammed for most of the day. But our state park is a major “watch point” and the road out of our neighborhood leads right to it. Maybe I’ll set up a lemonade stand!
Yikes! It sounds sort of like preparing for a hurricane.
How lovely to be able to sit on your deck and watch in comfort - with snacks and beverages (and a restroom!). ☀️
We are in the path too. Wife and I work in downtown Indy. Her employer told everyone to work from home, my office expects us in- i already scheduled it off. We’ll be safely on the deck.
@Boilergal
Howdy neighbor!! We’re trying to figure out what to do about our high schooler who goes to school in downtown. Like, if things are as crazy as they r predicting it could take hours to get him back home.
I think I would lean towards keeping them home that day. Have you seen/tried the Sun King eclipse beer?
@Boilergal
I have not. I love sun king beer but it doesnt love me! About the only one of their brews that doesnt mess up my stomach is the orange creme ale.
@MPCavalier kinda like it's an "anti-evac" maybe "forced staycation" is a better term ?
