🎧 Pink Floyd, "Meddle". Before Roger Waters asserted emotional and contextual control over PF, they made albums like this. Collaborative, experimental, and truly progressive music for the first stoner generation. IMHO, they never made anything as menacing as "One Of These Days" again ("Sheep" not withstanding) or as full-flower beautiful as "Echoes." I wonder if anyone who heard this in 1971 had any idea what was coming next.

Absolutely! For me, the "big three" for PF are "Saucerful of Secrets", "Atom Heart Mother", and "Meddle". I love WYWH and Animals of course, they're just a little....glossy?
@MPCavalier Ummagumma has its moments too, but agreed, especially with regard to the synergy of the group rather than supporting Waters therapy homework (Final Cut).
