Humble brag alert (apologies):
Just got back from my kids senior awards night. We are pretty hands off when it comes to our kiddos grades. They do well without any help from us, but we assist when asked or when we need to. We aren’t helicopter parents when it comes to grades. I guess we r doing something right. AP Scholar, National Honor Society, 4.4 GPA at the #4 high school in the state. Beaming with pride. And he did it all. Pic is of his “Honor Roll Stole”. #parenting #kids
@MPCavalier Outstanding! What's their next adventure?
@Helical_Code
He’s headed into a pre-law program. He wants to be a lawyer/lobbyist for the DEM party. He just finished an internship with the dem party in our state. I am truly blessed. Indeed a great adventure!
@MPCavalier It's amazing to see the people that our children become. I only have one, and she has elements that are sui generis. High school was more stressful than I believe it had to be, but my kiddo was well-positioned to enjoy her first year of college (just got back yesterday).
@Helical_Code
Considering i was hardly a world beater in high school (truant pot head) I didn't know what to expect. But all 3 of ours seem to be heading in the right direction. I give my wife all the credit!
@Helical_Code
That is very kind. Thank you! My wife and I are both “creatives” I guess. We thought that our oldest was heading into engineering or architecture. He says the events of the last two years changed his mind. Now he wants to change the world. God bless him.
@MPCavalier Sounds like a young person with a purpose and a plan driven by an awareness of the world. Honestly, I think that's more rare than a 4.4 GPA.
