Almost ready to share blocking for pages so far, but if @redenigma (garden jam recipe?) @BosmangBeratna (self-help essay?) @DavidSalo (thoughts on Life & The Universe?) & @JGSchaeffer (respite?) are still interested in contributing, please do!

And... @stueytheround? Do you have a quick recipe, song, or anything else you'd be interested in contributing? I see you "liking" some of these posts; you're more than welcome to share whatever your heart desires, too!

Thanks for all work to date!

@JeniRizio

Welcome, Jen! What would you like to share? We're building an issue around natural and more hopeful living. What that looks like is a bit different for everyone. What are you thinking of, for yourself?

@redenigma @BosmangBeratna @DavidSalo @JGSchaeffer @stueytheround

@MLClark @redenigma @BosmangBeratna @DavidSalo @JGSchaeffer @stueytheround I would like to write about how learning to speak new languages has helped give me hope, and cope with my brain disease. I went on my first proper holiday in over two decades this year, to Wales so I could finally have a break -- and to sit for my Welsh language exam. Since I live for adventure and I am perpetually broke, I backpacked it, stayed in a dorm for most of my trip, and bought groceries to make sandwiches.

@JeniRizio

Jen, we're delighted to have your joy in the piece.

I'm going to make one recommendation, though, due to the size of the (which favours tighter pieces).

Can you centre the piece *just* on that experience of travel for the first time in two decades?

4-800 words should fit over two pages, and it would give us that Zine-length taste of a big and wonderful adventure. (So happy you were able to make it happen!)

@redenigma @BosmangBeratna @DavidSalo @JGSchaeffer @stueytheround

@MLClark @redenigma @BosmangBeratna @DavidSalo @JGSchaeffer @stueytheround
I am sorry for the delay, had a horrible weekend battling migraines and nightmares. I will try and write the piece now if it's OK. It should not take me long to write something short.

@MLClark

Email sent, it is coming from a Gmail address, same handle as here.

@MLClark @redenigma @DavidSalo @JGSchaeffer @stueytheround

I'll be back to my desk Sunday for some writing, but I'm still planning on having that to you ASAP

@BosmangBeratna

SWEET SWEET SWEET.

I am SO amped for it.

Send it to Discord if you like, when ready. Hope you had a kickass week!

@redenigma @DavidSalo @JGSchaeffer @stueytheround

@MLClark @redenigma @BosmangBeratna @DavidSalo @JGSchaeffer @stueytheround I'd offer to contribute, but I've never actually done something quite like that, my cynical perspective on the world might make it challenging to contribute something uplifting, and I'm guessing it's probably too late in the process haha.

OTOH if you want a piece on my latest fascination (Passive Daytime Radiative Cooling - a potential climate change strategy and a way to significantly reduce air conditioning needs)...

@IrelandTorin

Bring it, Torin!

I'm a pragmatic existentialist myself. I push for the best from us because there are a whole bunch of sprogs who have to live on the earth we leave behind, no matter how much we've done gone and effed it all up. But no matter what we do, no one gets out of this alive, & our tribalism is going to eat us alive.

Happy to have your words! Can you give me 4-to-800 on Passive Daytime Radiative Cooling?
@redenigma @BosmangBeratna @DavidSalo @JGSchaeffer @stueytheround

@MLClark @redenigma @BosmangBeratna @DavidSalo @JGSchaeffer @stueytheround Aw, thanks!

I like your approach. For what it's worth, my reason for pushing for the best (as I see it) isn't too dissimilar, but elucidating the exact nature of it would be somewhat challenging as it's mediated by my complex, nuanced sense of right and wrong... which, as I'm sure you've heard too many times already (lol), is based more on outcomes than anything else.

Sure! I'll see about doing that right away.

@MLClark @redenigma @BosmangBeratna @DavidSalo @JGSchaeffer @stueytheround Well, I was slower than molasses in January, and this is only a first draft (which I'm admittedly not really happy with; it definitely feels off to me, but I've been known to rewrite things 25+ times and still have them feel off - so partly because of that & partly because lazy I'm calling it good for now), but here's what I've got.

@MLClark

What are you wanting contributed?

I have artworks and poetry I’ve created. May I be of assistance in helping round out a project?

First I’m seeing of whatever this is

@AndersonArtwork

Hi Scott! This is the same project for which you rec'd a lovely song, when I asked if anyone would be up for contributing to a "two jams" column (which @redenigma is kindly taking up, using your first rec'd piece!).

We've been posting calls for the last two months, but I definitely know it's tough for folks to muster the courage to submit work--even to a playful outing among friends.

There are only two colours, so keep that in mind for art, but poetry would work fine!

@MLClark @redenigma

I’m out and about this second but will look over my pile and send some
