There are a lot of rumours flying online, but as now The Times of Israel has this one as unsubstantiated. That may change, but we all have to be careful about misinformation - *especially* when it feeds into a narrative we're already primed to prefer. Social media is prime real estate for a lot of wild claims after an event as intense as this. Reposting with care is key.
Eh, emotions are so high. We all lean in pretty quickly to whatever's posted next (me too!), and it's clear this person was holding hostages so of course all past associations deserve to be under scrutiny!
