Quick stretch-aroo, then back to writing. (I figured out what I needed from my main POVs, so hopefully the rewrite comes easily now.)
QUESTION:
Let's say you're on a Star Trek episode as the alien-of-the-week.
You're playing a member of a new species, which is based on your name (or username), personality, and interests:
What's your species called, what's its deal, and why's it running into a Starfleet crew?
The Emelians live on a planet forever caught in a narrow multiverse bubble, which poses logistical challenges for longterm diplomatic relations. On one visit, the Federation might be talking to an Emelian phase working on major regional uplift projects; on another, the planet might have gone silent for private reflection; on another still, the planet might be in a "nature" phase and just want everyone to enjoy the moment. Enterprise-D needs to find a way to stay in contact with them all.
π A perfect B-plot tie-in! The Enterprise D is currently shuttling Lwaxana between her own diplomatic missions while called to act on this Federation priority task, and what first seems like a nuisance guest amid all the phase-shifters ultimately leads to the discovery that helps Geordi develop a sensor array modified to detect what empaths already can about phase-shifted brainwaves. :) Everyone wins and shares in an Emelian mud bath in the end.
Thanks, partner! Brilliant addition. π€
I think you did all the creative work there, but sure, I'll happy to be along for the ride. π
Yes, this is the perfect mission for Geordi.
YES, Lwaxana is always a nuisance, but a beloved one (even if Picard has to make himself scarce), and we know she *loves* to share a mud bath with a friend.
Love it. 𧑠π
@MLClark
Oh, that's perfect!
I feel strongly that Deanna may be able to help discern which phase may be available for diplomatic talks at any given time.
