This isn't just a list of different definitions of the term.
I wanted to write an explainer to help readers understand bigger questions about work, political life, personal relations, & the road to societal reform that many have tried to answer (differently!) under an umbrella term more often used as a scare tactic.
Can we ever have a more mature conversation about how to build a better world?
@MLClark Great explainer!! I admit the t-shirt pic threw me (Soviet regime memories). Another aspect of societal reform that predates the -isms is the Golden Rule and Love thy neighbour, now referenced (and weaponized by the far right) as Social Justice. Yes! We can have a mature conversation when we open the tent to both those that come from a philo-political view and those that come from a faith-based view (and all in-between)!❤️ I’m reminded of MLK Jr.’s Nobel speech: https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/peace/1964/king/acceptance-speech/
Wholeheartedly agreed, JG! There's a wealth of intersections to be found around this topic, and we're better for it when trying to think about how best to build a world that includes and shelters all.
