A lovely episode of Vibe Check asks each host for their "modern scripture": texts from the last few years they find themselves returning to for comfort, strength, or clarity.

What a great exercise. I might link to a couple of pieces myself, but what about you? What texts do you find yourself returning to these days?

(& yes, if it's literal scripture, that's welcome here. I hope it surprises no one that this secular humanist talks Bible verse with locals too.)

My go to's are Peace is Every Step by Thich Nhat Hanh, a few of Robert Frost's poems and my go to film when lonely or down is Out of Africa.

Thich Nhat Hanh! What a terrific wealth of simple wisdom.

I find that I never return to Frost in quite the same way. Do you find that too? Always new inflections to read into such beautifully seasoned prose.

@MLClark
😊Yes, I find that too w Frost. I’ve especially enjoyed seeing more in “Birches,” My November Guest,” and “The Tuft of Flowers” over the decades of re-reading.

I hope you are well and have power restored 💛
