The Hass avocados we're used to up North don't have any juiciness to them, and they can slip quickly into slimy or grainy in that delicate phase between "unripe" and mush. Still mild in flavour, the big difference with lorenas is a certain freshness that's difficult to describe. When perfectly ripe, there's still a firmness to the fruit that makes the flavour pop. So, not too different, but more resilient. Wonderful in fresh slices, on soups, in guac, & in icings and chocolate desserts.

@MLClark Thank you for that description. They sounds delicious, and I'm intrigued. I wonder if I can find them in Toronto? I bet I can if I do a little sleuthing.
