Healing right now is an episode of Ologies while finishing the rest of my errands.
(Emojis are SO recent and such a fascinating site of meaning creation and re-creation around the world!)

@MLClark Great link. In the beginning, I boycotted emojis because I thought they were ridiculous, but now I see them as part of the language -- at least *this* language -- and an often necessary part. The fact that I habitually and unintentionally comically misuse them is another story entirely. 😂 🤷
Oh, I did NOT use emojis for years - until I started learning Spanish and realized they helped immensely for providing context-cues to offset tonal missteps in my rigid, awkward prose. (I also learned to take myself a touch less seriously over time, methinks. Do you have a favourite? 👀)
@MLClark This is a boring answer, but it's the multi-coloured hearts. 🧡 ❤️ 💚 I don't care much for what the colours are supposed to signify (but I stay away from blue just in case), but I know how powerful they are when received at just the right time. And you?
@LiseL I love how much variation the hearts invite! Good choice!
For me... I love that we have three faces of the globe: a subtle way of nudging us to think a touch bigger than ourselves. 🌍🌎🌏 And when I want to go even bigger? 🌌
But the one that always makes me laugh is this little monocled fellow, 🧐, who often represents thinking deeper or skeptically about something. For me it's a perfect way of saying "hold on a minute, what's this now?" without changing the tone to something *too* serious.
@MLClark 😂 Maybe *that's* why I don't use it! I think it might be too edgy for most conversations.
