As a proponent of Late Marx (Mature Marx) and E.V. Debs, violence is not the way. Tankies (as the ideology stands) want retribution. I'd prefer the longer, hollistic and sustainable view.
@BosmangBeratna Retribution in a way, too, that reframes every issue around its possible impact on US hegemony, as if the moral righteousness of every other crisis can only be measured by how effectively it brings down US supremacy.
I see similar in some atheist circles: a hyper-fixation on bringing down religion that ironically continues to prop up religion at the centre of all debate. It's counterproductive. We need reformation that goes *far* beyond sticking it to any one national project.
