Also, I was chuffed this week to receive my first "pledge" on Substack - essentially, a promise to pay a monthly fee if my newsletter ever went to the "paid" model. I literally can't at this juncture; Substack runs on Stripe, which does not work for users in Colombia - and I should probably grow my readership a lot more first anyway - but that was still a kind thought on the part of the person pledging.

@joycereynoldsward PayPal's worrying me more every day, too. Patreon also had some issues last year that made a friend who works in financial security jump ship from supporting me on that platform - never a good sign!
But it's really hard to find good alternatives right now. Our little house of card has a fierce wobble to it, no?
@MLClark yeah, I'm concerned about PayPal. But...sigh, not a lot of other options. That said, I'm running a legacy business account from my days on eBay, back in the '90s.
@MLClark I need to activate that option as well. While I can use Stripe, I'm reluctant to tie it to my main bank account. Need to look into an online bank account or something like that. I run some things through Paypal now, but....
