Just mentioned in a DM that part of my experience of #CoSo has been bittersweet precisely because, after years of thinking I was just a tedious weirdo for wanting to talk about subjects that no one else seemed interested in (i.e., subjects that weren't trending), and in much more *careful* ways, too... it was so easy to find my people here.
*So* easy!
So--it's been bittersweet to realize how much time I'd lost to toxic spaces.
But I'm glad to focus on the "sweet" part of that equation now. π
@Sheilby24 Oh, good question. Bigger-picture humanist issues, social contract theory, creating historical continuities for current crises. How neoliberalism has permeated so much of our activism that it's hard to meet problems at their source. The political word games we play to deflect from direct action. Global conflicts, carceral justice, & health issues that aren't trendy right now. That sort of thing. Folks elsewhere have been more interested in outrage activism around Today's Bad Take. π
