When my husband and I were in Florence, Italy we visited Theodore Parker’s grave at the American Cemetery.
It was Theodore Parker who originated the phrase, “government of the people, by the people, and for the
people.”
Democracy is in the DNA of the United States. Even though then country elected an authoritarian President, the ideals of Democracy will still burn bright.
