@northernbassist you never know if such things will be a blessing or a curse.
i bougt a martin EC00028 in the late 90s, and one especially cold, dry Winter the top from the Bridge to the lower bout cracked where the two top pieces come together, so i had this luthier in CT fix it. 3 Winters later, it cracked again, and it has remained that way (haven't fixed it since) for more than 10 years.

This is how i got my McCollum. Dryness split down the center seam. my buddy was able to seal it, the repair is on the right
