Per the maps I should have two broods of Cicadas overlapping in my area. Haven't yet heard any this year.

@Lucky188 I just realized this will be the first time I haven't been in Maryland for the cicadas since the 70s
@Jezibaba Oh I've heard some loud years and even loud I enjoy it. Its better than traffic or sirens or many of the assorted people noises we are assaulted with daily.
@Lucky188 I remember the road ways with dead cicadas in the late 80s, swirling like snow.
@Lucky188 When I lived in Illinois, we had a stinky elderberry tree RIGHT SMACK DAB next to our building chock fulla those cicadas. They droned loud AF every year. So glad to be outta there
@Lucky188 consider yourself lucky. We are in maybe week 3 of a constant loud droning sound all day. Supposedly they live 4-6 weeks so won’t go too much longer.
I sort of look forward to the cacophony, makes for good sleeping.
