@Longbowgun well, i look at it in a variety of ways.

1) we all know that in a rich country such as ours, or the 🇺🇸, we could feed & house our homeless if we made it a priority

2) we also know that a dying or chronically ill 13 yr old using a make a wish (the only 1 they're likely to get) to feed the homeless for a year is quite a selfless act

3) we know too many peeps who would not share the selflessness of this 13 yr old...which leads us back to #1

i wonder who made the wish come true?

@Longbowgun

Because capitalists think that would encourage people to not spend their lives working to create wealth for the upper class to steal.

Aka if we don’t threaten everyone with misery and death if they dont work, how will the 1% afford to buy their 17 yacht?

@Longbowgun actually, scratch that, because it has been proven that treating humans as humans and offering social services and whatnot actually increases the productivity of a population.

But they can’t have us being healthy and happy and not struggling to survive, because then we’d start getting

~ideas~

Because we aren’t spending every waking moment trying to figure out how we’re gonna pay rent AND eat

@Longbowgun

Ideas like “hey, just because someone is different doesn’t mean they are a threat to my well-being” and “hold on a second, shouldn’t the people who actually create wealth get to keep it?”

And “why can this church buy a private jet, shouldn’t they be feeding the hungry and clothing the poor?”

Yknow, dangerous ideas.

@Longbowgun

And finally, one should always remember:

The cruelty is the point.

Not all evil is rooted in greed.

@Longbowgun Our government at some point decided that the value of a person is equal to their income. Laws and rules treat people with no income as nothing. Most of our society disagrees which is why so many groups are trying to solve homelessness.
