Good afternoon.
Your friendly, neighborhood librarian is very cranky.
My library was activated as a "cooling center", because the forecast earlier this week called for 100F temps.
Forecast high for today at my location? 87F.
One would think that TPTB would look at this, say, "hmmm, we're not going to be hot", and cancel the activation.
But no. So I'm there until 7pm.
Fucking asinine.
@singlemaltgirl Yeah, 87F here is not cause for a cooling center. It's normal fall temp.
@singlemaltgirl And, of course, by 6pm it'll be down in the mid-70s. Then by 7pm low 70s. We have cooling centers when the evening temps stay at 80+.
@LiberalLibrarian i would die. i would be dead. omg. i don't know how y'all live.
also, most of us don't have a/c in our homes b/c we never really needed it...before.
@singlemaltgirl Meh. You also have to realize that we have A LOT of microclimates. While it's 87 at work, at my house today it'll be in the mid-70s.
@singlemaltgirl LA County is vast and contains multitudes.
@LiberalLibrarian hot multitudes. π©
@singlemaltgirl 21C on Christmas Day is delightful, though.
@LiberalLibrarian @singlemaltgirl Itβs 104F here today. Unseasonable.
@Boyceaz Now THAT'S cooling center weather. @singlemaltgirl

@LiberalLibrarian I'm sorry.
It'll pass quickly.
@LiberalLibrarian
HEEY LLπ Ssoo Sorry 4 This Inconvenience. Hmmm Indeed.π Hope That A DIFFERENT Decision Can Be Made L8R
IF NOT May U Receive Some Comfort.
