I just had to explain to my incredulous coworkers that the only two qualifications in the Constitution you must satisfy to run for president are: Be a natural-born citizen, and be 35 years of age and up. Felons can run for president.
I think the Framers messed up on that...

@LiberalLibrarian In their day most felonies carried a death sentence, so it likely seemed to them to be a self-solving problem.
@LiberalLibrarian I don't think the Framers ever expected of a President to be as corrupt as a know convicted felon.
