Yes. Abraham is a myth. Moses is a myth. Jesus, while a historical figure, is a myth insofar as his divinity is concerned.
But what's not a myth is that the Israelites arose out of the Canaanite hill tribes of late Bronze - early Iron Age Canaan. They ARE the indigenous people.
But a Roman emperor's renaming of Judea as "Palestine" is a vile propaganda ploy which still reaps dividends.
I feel like indigenous supporters on the US go all the way back to the origins of our Natives in our land to justify their rights to various things, meanwhile a lot of those same supporters only go back 60-odd years for Isrealโs history and it makes not the sense they think it does. @LiberalLibrarian
@Armchaircouch "Jews have only been there since 1917!"
No, they've been there in some form since 1000 BCE.
and either way itโs not often their fight to fight! All theyโre doing is adding to the mayhem at a cost to others affected by it. @LiberalLibrarian
And let me be clear: By "myth", I don't mean "lie". I mean a story, a way to explain one's history to oneself which isn't based on empirical evidence.
