Because so far both Netanyahu and Hamas have been committed to endless war with zero regard for their own supposed constituents. Only if both Bibi and Hamas leaders are removed from power can Israelis and Palestinians have peace.
Prediction: If Hamas follows through on this within the next few weeks, expect their apologists in the West to drop them like a hot tater.
