I'm #GenX. Growing up in NYC, with Latins, Blacks, and Asians, I thought my generation had solved racism.
Of course, that was a silly assumption. As a Latino, I've been subjected to bigotry by white Gen-Xers. And as a Latino, I've of course seen my own people inflict the same racism on Black people.
Black people are not going to solve racism, because they've done nothing to cause it. They are the recipients, not the initiators. The conversations will be painful, but it is what it is.

Good point. You can't solve a problem you haven't made. You can't change someone's heart. You can't legislate kindness and tolerance. I wish we could.
