Look. I know DeSantis is scary. But can we not assign him superhuman powers? How, exactly, will this "board" control anyone's content? How will this not be laughed out of court? How will it have any power over anything produced not in Florida? Outrage and fear are what sell. Wanna be woke? Be woke to this. It's much closer to the original meaning of the word from the Black community.
@LiberalLibrarian I also think there’s much to be concerned about with the anti LGBTQ laws he’s already created. I work with human service agencies in Florida. I gauge my concern by people’s reality on the ground, and there are people who hold state licensure and are terrified to do their jobs for fear of losing their careers or getting sued. It’s chilling, and does not feel like anywhere else in America. He’s much more dangerous than 45.
@misslovelymess Oh yes, he's turned Florida into a hellhole. But his ability to translate that to the rest of the country is highly doubtful. For whatever reason, Florida has made a mad dash to the right as far as the electorate goes. I wish someone would research as to why.
