@LianaBrooks I taught myself to cook out of desperation because nobody in my family taught me. My food is a lot cheaper and tastes better.
@JeniRizio That's why I learned. My parents divorced and when he had the kids we didn't eat because he didn't cook. But I was hungry and had little siblings, so I learned to cook for us.
@LianaBrooks In my case, my parents were very controlling and the maternal unit kicked me out of the kitchen. I learned as an adult after my BFF taught me. The parents wanted me financially dependent on them the rest of my life. It's gross. I broke free two years ago May 1st and have been healing from those trauma bonds.
@JeniRizio But my parents are part of the reason I looked for work on the other side of the planet.
