@LianaBrooks I taught myself to cook out of desperation because nobody in my family taught me. My food is a lot cheaper and tastes better.
@JeniRizio That's why I learned. My parents divorced and when he had the kids we didn't eat because he didn't cook. But I was hungry and had little siblings, so I learned to cook for us.
@JeniRizio My mother once told me she only had me because she wanted someone to take care of her when she was old. My entire purpose, in her eyes, was to take care of her and praise her. I worked and gave her my money. I cooked. I cleaned. I raised my younger siblings.
When I had my own kids I cut her off and told her they were my priority. We didn't talk for a couple of years. Now we have limited contact.
