A new Iowa bill would roll back child labor laws, allowing 14 to 17-year-olds to work in mining, meatpacking, demolition, operating guillotine shears, and other dangerous jobs. Under the business-backed bill, employers wouldn't be civilly liable if kids are injured or killed.
The new Iowa bill would also lift a ban on 14 and 15-year-olds working in freezers and meat coolers, and allow kids as young as 14 1/2 to drive themselves to work.

One of the growth moments in my life was recognizing that a certain level or type of psychopathy - and apathy - exists in some people. It just is. This stopped me from wondering, "How could someone kill their whole family?" I'm not sure if the absence of shock and confusion is a good thing or a bad thing.
