My condo association has just announced that I can now pay the condo fee through an ACH transfer for a convenience charge of $1. However, if I write a check it’s free. Why would I pay an additional fee for paying a fee?

@LaviniaMHughes I just can't fathom that there's a fee for an electronic transfer but no fee for the labor-intensive method of physically depositing a check. It's not like a buck is a lot of $ it's just the ridiculousness.
