Welcome to CoSo! If you're looking for specific people, you can try searching for their @ but of course that will only work if they're using the same handle here that they did there.
I'm using my Twitter handle to make myself easier to find, in case any of my friends ever show up here.
But for the most part, I've just made new friends here. As Content Warning said, there's no algorithm here. Jump into conversations you see in the firehose. Ask if you have ?'s. We're helpful. 🙂

There's a learning curve, for sure. It took me most of a week.
But people here are really helpful, so don't be shy if you have a question. There's almost always someone around who can answer.
