I have been posting here for around 2 weeks. I left twitter about a year ago and fell for the 'Mastodon is the natural successor, all hail Mastodon' hype. I spent 8 months there being totally ignored, even by those whose posts I commented on. I have not only had more interaction on here in 2 weeks than 8 months over there, the interactions here are quality personified. Exchanging opinions without fragile egos taking over. Thank you CoSo.
@LadyT I think Mastodon experiences may vary widely based on which server. I tried it because a Black friend on Twitter said @th3j35t3r is racist. What I found was racism, hate, and Nazis far worse than Twitter (then). I came here and found none of that, just sincere engagement and, unlike Musk, not a hint of racism or hatred from the Jester. Wish I could tell my bird guy about it, but my voice there would be drowned out by ads, trolls and bots.
@walterbays @th3j35t3r I found the same ego energy there, its all about amassing likes and followers and comments not about quality. AND there are only so many cat and tree trunk pics I can stomach 😆
