I'm not ready for Bruce Willis to be gone yet. The photo posted of him today along with the statement...it just felt like the lights were on but no one was home, but you post it with a "enjoying the beach!" caption, and no one's the wiser.

Briefly checking out his illness...it looks like he gets to do stuff he's always enjoyed for the rest of his life...or at least for as long as he remembers it. He's 67 and it sounds doubtful he hits 80.

It is very hard to watch the changes of dementia in a loved one. Or anyone. But there can be surprisingly happy moments too, it's strange. My maternal grandma was very healthy conscious, and anxious about her and my grandpa's health. No one ever saw her eat pizza until after her dementia symptoms and then it was like she let herself enjoy so something forbidden. It was a different sort of fun to be with her then, and very humbling, as a teenager.

@agitated_trash I have heard about the happy moments, but the anecdote about enjoying something "forbidden" like pizza is phenomenal.
