Christopher Columbus did not launch any of his expeditions from this port. Francis Drake probably didn't come here either. Michiel De Ruyter preferred to fight battles with the English fleet and patrol the Caribbean sea.
But the Vikings came here to buy grain. Sometimes they paid with silver and sometimes with sword and fire (depending on how much beer or wine they drank). Somewhere among the forests of northern Poland, somewhere between Gdańsk and Szczecin, there is a city where I was born.

Hi @KostekPoland 👋
I also lived amongst the forests of Poland, but in the south east near Przemyśl. I am from Słonne, on the river San. I was born in
Dynów, and lived in Słonne. Dubiecko was within walking distance.

@Krysdammit South east part of Poland is really beautiful. Przemyśl is an amazing place with lovely architecture and breathtaking landscape. I visited the city a few times.

@KostekPoland
My family immigrated to Canada in 1959, the last time I visited Poland was in '74. Przemyśl is beautiful, from what I can remember.
