What bothers me is the police agencies decided Tesla was the way to go.

In Ontario, Canada, most agencies have moved to SUV’s since sedans today are, virtually all of them, too small for daily police use. And there are plenty of SUV EV’s made by “North American” automakers that could fit the bill.

The problem is not moving to EV’s, it’s with the choice of platform.

The article kind of explains it. There is a tesla plant in the area, so it was an idea of supporting local business.

the problem is, Teslas are built so badly, they are hard to customize, and repair.

Most other vehicle manufactures have done a lot to maintain part specs for interchangeability, which also makes it easier to modify and repair
