DART spotted Didymos 20 million miles away before impact on Sept 26. DART is set to impact Didymos' moonlet,
#DARTMission Press update today. Lots of good info. Key point is after impact there will be optical observatories around the gloobe, including #JWST #Hubble
detection of the change in Dimorphos' orbit around Didymos will be done by optical telescopes watching mutual eclipses of the two bodies. Just measuring light from the pair.

About the size of a 4 slot toaster it will take images using LEIA (LICIACube Explorer Imaging for Asteroid) and LUKE (LICIACube Unit Key Explorer) of the impact on Disymos' moon Dimorphos
