By law that is $1000 per offense. 5 offenses. If the Judge fined Trump more it would be overturned on appeal for violation of the law, and he would be fined NOTHING.
But, issuing a fine is a pretty good warning that the next time he does it, it means jail
And after Trump was fined he stopped attacking the clerk.. so in a way it worked.
WHY ISN"T TRUMP BEING PUNISHED FOR VIOLATING GAG ORDER?

well, NY law says $1000 fine or jail. That's it. Please cite an example where a person was jailed for contempt of violating a gag order during a trial and we can see if it fits
