My thrill for the year so far, 👀 a Barred Owl pair nesting near the edge of the yard, & seeing a fledgling exiting it's nest for the first time (1st one left a couple of days prior). After a day & a half of stillness except an occasional blink or head turn, the activity increased as Mamma returned to the area. At this moment it's realizing the hole's just too small to stretch those wings & mamma wasnt coming down! @Joyinthecountry It was! I'd tried to stay out of the way but was able to witness so much activity, zoomed in from about 100 ft away, and thats at least 50' up! 😍
