@Jorro Yes, the U.S. Constitution gives the power to adjourn or recess Congress to each chamber. However, both houses of Congress must agree on the timing and duration of a recess. Typically, the House and Senate will pass a concurrent resolution to recess for a specific period of time. Additionally, the President can also adjourn Congress if the two chambers cannot agree on a date for adjournment.
@Alfred looks like Trump’s scheme to go around the senate imploded because he didn’t even have the votes for Matt Gaetz and he won’t be able appoint anyone if he doesn’t have the votes to send the senate into recess, what do you think?
