My unbacked, unproven theory is that Elon Musk was the most annoying guy in the group chat and all richers secretly hate each other, and I think a few of them decided to troll Musk to see if they could get him to make the colossal mistake of buying twitter. This way Jack and Parag and others could finally have their own "funding secured" and finally turn a profit out of twitter.
And I think Elon *just* figured out that he got conned and is now taking it out on the company at large.
