In WW2, German troops were issued chocolate and coffee laced with meth amphetamine. It was also included in pill form in the survivial kits of Luftwaffe flight crews.
In North Africa, British troops were also issued with meth amphetamine.
So, basically, WW2 was a bunch of tooled up meth heads going like
