I have been involved with the world of finance for more than three decades, and I have never seen a brand disintegrate this quickly, barring fraud. It is truly an emperor has no clothes moment.
Since Musk offered to step down, and showcased to the world his incompetence in finance, management and then coding - he has revealed himself, all on his own, through his hubris and autocratic tendencies, and ruined his brand.
...
@holon42 wouldn't that assume that he had competence to begin with?
@Jezibaba yes, that may be a false assumption for sure. it may be why the Peter principle exists at all, to reveal the total lack thereof.
@holon42 I thought about this after posting and figured you're correct because without the promotion beyond capability we might never have known his incompetence. The previous owners of Tesla know full well, don't they?
@Jezibaba they're FO alright 🙄 i somehow doubt he would get another chance to display it elsewhere.
@Jezibaba is it the Peter principle, rising to the level of his obvious incompetence?
