Woah! A lawyer for Steve Bannon is seeking to withdraw from representing him, citing the possibility of being called as a witness at trial.

Seems apparent Trump is freeing up Bannon to testify because he will lie under oath to protect him, and he knows it.

It is a delay tactic he is threatening to be Bannon's witness against the Jan 6 Committee

Tim Shehane this is for a criminal trial starting in a few weeks, I think.

Jim McMichael yes. It is. The charge is Contempt of Congress.

They are attempting to game the system, and it's easy to prevent.
The lawyer wants to withdraw as lawyer so Bannon's new team can call him as a witness providing him the chance to turn his testimony into an attack on the Jan 6 committee.
The judge has 3 choices.
1. Deny the request.
2. Allow it with no qualifications upon it (this is the absolute worst choice.)
3. Allow it only if Bannon waives attorney client privilege.

I expect Bannon and the lawyer will reject option 3, leaving 1 the only realistic choice left for the judge.
