Structural racism abounds in new NY map:
“The plan drawn by Jonathan Cervas, a post-doctoral fellow at Carnegie Mellon University…would potentially eliminate two seats currently held by Black representatives. Yvette Clarke and Hakeem Jeffries were put in the same Brooklyn district, while Jamaal Bowman and Mondaire Jones find themselves in the same Westchester district.”
@Jezibaba with gentrification, this is a disaster.

The NYS Constitution requires that the core of existing congressional districts be maintained.
So why was the historic Black community of Bedford Stuyvesant broken into pieces in the proposed map?
It’s wrong and unconstitutional.
