@DavidKMresists thank you for reading and making a good point -- I borrowed the one Welsh language learning book they had, found it kinda impractical so maybe I will make special requests for others. My library also had an e-book all in Welsh so that was nice.
@JeniRizio it is sad that the booksellers near you won't carry Welsh books, but you can ask the local libraries to order specific recent books about Wales. Few people bother, so there is a good chance they would do it.
