I've been raging about the R. Kelly allegations for months, because his abuse of girls is repugnant and I think the dude needs to be buried under a prison. Yet my posts on the topic get very little traction or response except from those friends of mine who are people of color. Apparently white people just don't consider the abuse of black girls is their problem. It's "other".

@malice I think it’s horrible. Tbh, as a victim of sexual abuse myself, I find all the talk of these different sexual abuse cases triggering. Obviously I only speak for myself, but I haven’t commented on any of it, for that reason. Maybe some of the lack of engagement you’re getting is due to similar reasons? I guess I naively hope for the best in people and don’t want to view their lack of a response as a race issue.. if it is, in the case of your posts, I agree people need to be better.
