There have to a few moderate republicans that would be willing to negotiate some kind of concessions to vote for Jefferies, no? I know it's a long shot, but... Whoa boy, the ketchup that would be spilled... and the barking about a rigged election on a televised roll call vote would be next level.
@PrivacyL0st I've heard it seriously suggested that they put up Liz Cheney for Speaker.
Today's GOP would never elect a woman, but the fact remains that you don't have to be a member of The House to be elected Speaker.

Likeliest is that some GOP backbencher who's only really known in his own district in will get suggested and elected all in one go. Considering the current makeup of the GOP, he'll be the standard sort of Q-lite A$$ we''ve been griping about since '16.
@Jascollins That would be interesting, but the Ds have made it clear they're united behind Jefferies. They won't deviate from that...
