Here’s your PSA for the day. This issue only gets slightly better when controlled for income and education. Additionally, outcomes get significantly better when black doctors treat black patients.

@Dreaw404 sadly, that is the case, even if they have a female OB/GYN. I don’t know what is going on in America that this would happen, except for the possibility that black women are not getting the same levels of insurance and care that most white women do.

@J_Windrow access and insurance play a role. But racism is also part of the issue. Black clinicians and physicians listen and believe black patients when they describe symptoms. Concordance in race leads to better outcomes. Overall the US Healthcare system is a business. 😞
