When I was young, this was a popular song, all over the radio; no one, at that time, really seemed to understand what Lou was writing about (including my mum AND the local gubmint), but the thing that really grabbed my attention was the mixing and production; it's pristine and still can't be topped, even today.

What I find troubling is that Lou's most seminal work would today be not only misunderstood by many, but vilified by so many more who would just refuse to see.

And it's not the only one; songs like 'Vicious' or 'Waiting for the Man', or even 'Heroin' ... well, a lot of folks would just miss the point altogether.
