@Dogofalltrees I imagine you could take a look at Mississippi or Arkansas to get an idea, Florida isnโt too far off, either.
@PrChrisHarbin Iโm actually not โpicking onโ those states, I gave voice to personal experience. I had children attending school in those states, and yes, there is a HUGE difference compared to other areas of the country. FL and TX most recently have gutted their educationโฆpurposelyโฆto make control over their populace far easier.
@PrChrisHarbin They do not want nor do they want their teachers to teach critical thinking to the children.
@JLordanKelly I'm in NC, and was at a local Board of Education meeting last week to speak against a M4L agenda item. The push here against critical thinking is just as strong, and all too few people in the community are even aware of it. :(
@JLordanKelly @Dogofalltrees I'm not sure we have to pick on MS, AR, FL, or TX. As a whole, the US seems to fit any definition I might visualize. We can't grasp the difference between the greed of the 0.01% and the poor struggling to survive. When did we last raise the minimum wage nationally? Why is it not tied to an inflation index? Why is CEO pay not limited to a ratio of employee pay? Why does our healthcare system give higher value to profit margins than health outcomes?
