My youngest son has been in a residential psychiatric facility since mid-August. He’s been doing so well in the program, going from 1-hour supervised visits to home passes in record time. His first overnight home pass was to be over Christmas, but you know, fucking bomb cyclone/blizzard of ‘22 😖
Today is his birthday, he is now 14 years old (which coincidentally is his shoe size…men’s, not kid’s…) and my mom and I have planned a massive holiday/birthday weekend for him to make up for his not being able to come home. We’re getting a hotel with an indoor pool, and my mom is treating him to a Porterhouse dinner.
I always made it a point to separate Christmas and birthday for him, but one huge celebration seemed to be the order of the day. I can’t wait for it to start ❤️
@JLordanKelly Sounds like you’ll be surrounding him with love. My husband used to work in a res facility, and it’s a tough place to be. I hope they made his Christmas special there too.
